SafeCart Now Connects to eBay: Automatic GPSR Compliance for Your Listings

If you sell on eBay, you already know the drill: every listing needs manufacturer details, EU Responsible Person information, and safety warnings if it's a consumer product headed to EU buyers — and eBay expects that data to live on the listing itself, not in a spreadsheet somewhere. Keeping it current across a growing catalogue, by hand, doesn't scale.

Today we're launching a direct eBay connection for SafeCart, so that compliance data stops being something you type into a form and starts being something SafeCart keeps in sync for you.

What's new

With the eBay integration, SafeCart can:

• Import your active eBay listings as monitored Product Safety Passports — no CSV export/import round-trip required.
• Monitor every imported listing against the EU Safety Gate recall database, exactly like your other connected stores.
• Publish your GPSR compliance data back onto eBay — manufacturer details, your EU Responsible Person, and safety warnings — written directly onto the matching listing's regulatory information.

How it works

1. Connect. From Account settings → Integrations, choose eBay and sign in through eBay's own authorisation screen. SafeCart never sees or stores your eBay password — only a secure, encrypted access token that you can revoke at any time.
2. Import. SafeCart pulls in your active listings — name, SKU, barcode/GTIN, brand, and image — and creates a Product Safety Passport for each one that isn't already being monitored.
3. Monitor. Imported listings join your regular Safety Gate monitoring automatically, with no extra setup.
4. Publish. Once a Product Safety Passport has manufacturer and EU Responsible Person details filled in, choose "Publish GPSR data" to write them onto the matching eBay listing. SafeCart always shows you a preview of what will change before anything goes live on eBay.

Why this matters for eBay sellers

GPSR obligations don't pause because a channel is harder to update. Manually re-entering the same Responsible Person and manufacturer details across dozens or hundreds of eBay listings — and keeping them current as your catalogue changes — is exactly the kind of repetitive, error-prone task that leads to gaps. Connecting your eBay account turns that into a one-time setup: import once, keep your Passports accurate, and publish updates whenever your compliance data changes.

Getting started

1. Sign in to SafeCart and open Account settings → Integrations.
2. Select eBay and complete the authorisation screen.
3. Choose "Import listings" to bring your catalogue in for monitoring.
4. Fill in manufacturer and EU Responsible Person details on your Product Safety Passports, if you haven't already.
5. Use "Preview publish" to see exactly what will be written to eBay, then "Publish GPSR data" to send it live.

You can disconnect at any time — SafeCart stops writing to your eBay listings immediately, and the products you've already imported stay under Safety Gate monitoring.

Your data, handled carefully

Your eBay tokens are encrypted and never leave SafeCart's servers. The connection only reads listing and inventory information — it can't touch your eBay account settings, payments, or messages — and every write to a listing is limited to the regulatory/compliance fields you've asked SafeCart to publish. SafeCart also honours eBay's account-deletion requirements: if you close your eBay account, SafeCart removes the connection and your stored eBay identifiers automatically.
