Why it's dangerous
The plastic material of the cable has an excessive concentrations of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), lead and short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured values: up to 6.1%, 0.24% and 1.4% by weight, respectively). .This phthalate poses a risk to human health and the environment. Lead poses a risk to the environment. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. Additionally, the solders in the product have an excessive concentrations of lead and cadmium (measured values: up to 63.7% and 0.15% by weight, respecitvely). Cadmium bio-accumulates and poses a risk to the environment.
