Bath toy subject to a consumer warning over chemical risk
EU authorities issued a consumer warning about this product (Bath toy) after it was found to pose a chemical and choking risk. Here is how to tell if you have it, and what to do next.
How to identify it
- Product
- Electric bath toy in the form of a floating boat, made of rigid plastic. The toy comprises one boat base incorporating a battery-powered jet system, three duck figurines which can be positioned on the boat, one ‘shower’ module consisting of a duck connected by a rigid hose to a shower head. A suction cup is supplied unmounted and loose as well as an instruction manual.

Why it's dangerous
ChemicalChoking
The product has small parts (suction cup) that can easily detach. A small child may put them in the mouth and choke. Moreover, the battery compartment can be easily opened without a tool, making the batteries accessible. A child could put the batteries in their mouth, with a risk of damage to the child’s gastrointestinal tract if swallowed.
The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with European standards EN 62115 and EN 71-1.
